Queer Socialists Committee
The Queer Socialists Committee (Queer Soc) helps further Piedmont Triad DSA’s connections to LGBTQ organizations and aide in educating DSA members on these issues and how they relate to democratic socialism.
Regular yearly events coordinated by this group include representation at Winston Salem and Greensboro's Pride events as a well as a yearly Transgender Clothing Swap to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility.
Get Involved with Queer Soc
Come to a committee meeting! This committee is relatively new within Piedmont Triad DSA and is looking to expand. Meetings typically occur on the 1st and 4th Thursday of the month, but refer to the calendar of events here for specifics, including meeting locations.
The current committee efforts are focused on the Piedmont Triad transgender community and include:
Informational sessions on transgender health issues
Creating a database of trans and queer friendly businesses and healthcare resources in the Triad
Mutual Aid work as it applies to the queer community
